Both the acai palm and the acai berry are native to the swamps and floodplains that grow in the regions of Central and South America. What is Acai Juice?

We should all be concerned with the health value of the food that we eat. Healthy foods can make us stronger and make us fit to meet the challenges of life. Knowledge of the health value of foods can make us choose which may be best for us.

Different foods have different health values and within food groups, some have more health value than others. Below, you can find the healthiest food choices. Eating them on a regular basis can bring you good health and hence a happier life.

The no. 1 source of minerals and vitamins are vegetables. Those with darker leaves or skin have higher antioxidant content than others but they all provide us with necessary vitamins and minerals. Kale, asparagus, green beans, celery, spinach and peas are some examples of health giving vegetables. Your body also can benefit from the nutrients that carrots, eggplant squash, mushrooms and yams give.

Darker colored fruits are high in antioxidants just like vegetables are. Notable ones are apples, bananas, oranges, pears, fig, raspberries, plums, lemons, grapes and watermelon. Among the berries, acai berry have the highest antioxidant content and is also packed with nutrients that is why it is classified as a superfood.

For dairy, choose low fat cheese, eggs and yogurt. The guideline here is to choose the ones that are low in fat and cholesterol. The same goes for meat: lean beef, lamb, turkey, venison and chicken breast. For seafoods the best choices are shrimp, cod, scallops and tuna.

Nuts and seeds are also very good for your health. Sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, almonds, peanuts, and pumpkin seeds are good examples of health promoting nuts and seeds. Aside from the health benefit you get from these food, they are delicious too. As for grain products, choose brown bread, buckwheat, barley, rye, corn, whole wheat and oats. You have an option though to choose foods which are naturally sweetened with honey, maple syrup and molasses. The food will still taste delicious and won’t give harmful effects to your body.

You don’t need to add sugar or fat to make the food delicious. Combine it with spices such as black pepper, basil, dill, cilantro, oregano, peppermint, black pepper, sage, rosemary, and thyme.

Water is the best when it comes to hydrating your body. Refrain from soda as it contains sugar and most of them also contain caffeine. If you need a beverage, choose green tea as it is very health promoting and contains a lot of antioxidants to give you healthier and younger looking skin.

A person concerned with health should choose to eat foods that have high health values. The food gives as the necessary substances for our body to operate optimally including our brain. Each food have different levels of strength if we talk about nutritional value. Some are just superior to others. Knowing the strengths of nutritional value from food coming from different food groups makes a difference in making us choose what’s best for us. Below are some foods to consider.

Vegetables are packed with lots of vitamins and minerals. Dark colored ones have more antioxidant content than lighter ones. Worthy of note are kale, celery, asparagus, green beans, peas, and spinach. Even though lighter colored vegetables have less antioxidants, they are still packed with health promoting nutrients. Other vegetables worthy of mentioning are eggplant, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms,squash and yams.
