The temperature proper for wines ranges from 55 degrees to 58 degrees Fahrenheit (13-15 degrees Celsius). 49 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit or 5 to 18 degrees Celsius may also be sufficient as long as the temperature is unvarying.

When stored at 55F wines mature slowly and this aids in its solidity.

James Bond, The 007 Martini

Alcohol is a fairly old beverage which is consumed daily by a big number of people. But it is important to consume alcohol with a limit and know when you should stop, because overuse of alcohol may cause severe health problems. Of course alcohol is a big part of not only our life, but also of the lives of our loved fictional characters. Surely one of the most favored characters is James Bond.

James Bond is known to be one of the bravest and most interesting fictional heroes. Originally James Bond was a hero in a book written by Ian Fleming. However later on the book was made into a movie and James Bond got an even bigger popularity. And of course such a professional agent can’t perform properly without having a proper drink for gentlemen.

However, there is a fact that not many of you probably know, but in the book and James Bond movie there is a difference between the beverages he is ordering. We will be talking about the book “Casino Royale”, because the James Bond martini recipe displayed is of a much bigger quality than any other drink you can probably imagine.

The first part of preparing the James Bond martini is getting some stuff. Find a shot glass, cocktail strainer, champagne goblet, a lemon peeler, cocktail shaker and a lemon.

And to prepare the finished martini you will need the following ingredients: water, ice, Vodka (make sure it is grain-based), Gordons Gin, some Angostura bitters and Lillet Blanc. The Lillet Blanc and the Angostura bitters are used to resemble the taste and aroma of Kina Lillet.

Start by filling the champagne glass with ice and water. Fill of the shaker with crushed cubes of ice. In the cocktail shaker, mix ounce of Lillet Blanc, one dash of the Angostura bitters, one ounce of vodka and of course 3 ounces of Gordons Gin. Close the shaker with the lid and shake it for a couple of seconds so that the mixture becomes icy. Next empty the ice and water of the champagne glass. Take the shaker and using the strainer empty the finished martini into the champagne goblet. The final step is adding a large thin peel of lemon. And by doing all this you have just made yourself a James Bond martini.

You shouldn’t be nave and think that you will be able achieve perfect results from just one try. You may have some trouble finding the ingredients, but this is up to you. This martini isn’t so hard to make and you should be able to do it from a couple of tries.

And this is how to create the James Bond martini. This martini truly has an amazing refined taste and a sip from it can surely make you feel very good. However always drink with a limit and don’t go to extremes.

At the dinner table is a great time for familys to get together and enjoy some quality time with each other. It’s actually been proven that family’s who eat together seem to have a better chance of having a better relationship with each other, and this is very important to have.

Having a good family dinner all starts with the meal that is prepared. It’s not going to be a good dinner if not everyone enjoys the meal. I know that it’s hard to try and please everyone with just one meal, but it can be done. There are many different types of foods that can be choosen from.

Let’s take chicken as an example. This of course only applies if your whole family likes chicken, but there are literally hundreds of ways to prepare chicken. There’s barbaqued chicken, grilled chicken, fried chicken, and many many more. There’s usually always a way to make chicken that everyone enjoys.

Another thing that’s also good to have at family dinners is to have desserts. In most familys desserts are reserved for various special occaions, but you should try to make dessert once a week for your family. I guarantee that you’ll feel better about it if you do.

One good thing to make for dessert is homemade pudding. Pudding is very easy to make and many people like pudding. If you want to be more creative then you can take the pudding and put grahm crackers underneath of the layer of pudding. This tastes very good.

You can also make brownies as a dessert. Brownies are essentially like pudding in that they are easy to make and are liked by almost everyone. Brownies can also be gotten for relatively cheap to, so it’s a cheap dessert also like pudding.

Wine Coolers From Danby: Effecient And Affordable Wine Cooling

Danby Wine Cooler units are manufactured in Canada by a household appliance company that has a large and appealing range of wine coolers for every need at very reasonable prices. There are large capacity wine cooler that can store 75 bottles for under $1000 with considerable money to spare. Danby offers two kinds of cooling units, dual zone units and single zone units.

Dual zone coolers by Danby and the much larger capacity wine cellars have two separate compartments for red and white wines. The upper zone space houses red wines that can be stored at 55 degrees F. The bottom section holds white and sparkling wines that are stored at cooler temperatures between 41 to 50 degrees F or 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.

Holding capacity determines the cooler size, measured by the number of 750 ml bottles it can hold. The smallest unit, the DWC 620PL-SC, can cool 6 regular wine bottles. This is a countertop model as is the next unit in size, the DWC 1233B2-SC that can store 12 bottles. The range in capacity for the other models goes from 17 to 50 bottles. Cooling units above 35 bottle capacity are called wine cellars but there is really no difference in function.

The smaller units that hold under 17 bottles only have single temperature zones. The dual zone models start with the cooler DWC283BIS which houses 30 bottles. You can store 10 red wines and 20 white wines. Unfortunately, if you prefer red wine to white, you cannot change the temperature settings for each compartment. These are permanently set by the factory.

There is also a humidor to maintain the perfect level of humidity at 50% so the wine corks do not shrink. The humidor goes in the red wine section but if you use it, it will reduce the space for red wine storage down to 4 bottles.

There is a five year limited warranty on the Danby wine coolers. There is a one year coverage on parts and labor. A four year limited warranty on sealed systems and parts only is included as part of this package.

The general consensus among reviewers of this product line is that Danby offers a great value for the budget conscious wine consumer but the products sometimes arrive under packaged and damaged and customer service is slow to respond. Other complaints are about the noise of the motor, lack of locks on the doors and condensation problems. However, most owners are very satisfied with their purchases and would continue to buy other products from this company.

When the second stage of storing begins the lager will clear and mellow. The cooler temperatures will increase the production of products from the herbs used thus giving a softer taste to the lager. The modern lager beer has usually a light color and is highly carbonated and many people enjoy drinking it more than ale.

Don’t get into the habit of mixing the types of drinks you’re having for the night, since the mix of varieties of alcohol can produce a lot of nausea while you’re drinking, and a splitting headache the morning after.

Basics Of The Food And Wine Pairing

One of the most interesting wine-related question is what food pairs with what wine. Lots of people think that they cannot make pairing wine with food. Good news if you are brave enough you don’t have to worry about it at all.

There are some “dogmatic rules” of this issue:

They say: red wine best with meat and white goes to fowl or fish. These rules is for braking them. Pinot Noir as a lighter red nice with salmon. Sometimes “white rules” has been broken, for example when Chardonnay goes with a liver pate or juicy grilled steak. As you can see there are general and non-usual directives about pairing. They definitively help you to select a wine for your fine meal.

Firstly choose a lighter food for your light-bodied wine. Pinot Noir is a great choice (Monthes Alpha) with the mentioned Crispy Salmon. Flavor of food and wine will perfectly meet in this case.

Important thing how is the food is prepared. Grilled, roasted fried? Seasoned by sauce or spice? All can brings out different tastes. Grilled chicken breast or an Italian spicy food is great with Cabernet Franc or Carmenere, but sauce is very delicious with Chardonnay. Asparagus with Lemon Butter Sauce and Ridgeback Chardonnay.

When you drink wine by itself it tastes one way, but when you take a bite of food, the wine tastes different. This is because wine is like a spice. Elements in the wine interact with the food to provide a different taste sensation like these basic reactions:

Choose a sweet food. Japanese Teriyaki and honey-mustard glazes are good ingredients. They will cause a drier taste in your wine so you should use off-dry wine for matching. Flavor balance makers are: White Zinfandel, Riesling.

High Acid Foods like salads with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, soy sauce, or fish served with a squeeze of lemon go well with wines higher in acid (Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, Crane Lake Pinot Noir). White Zinfandel, although not as high in acid, can provide a nice contrast to high acid foods.

Bitter and Astringent (Tannic) Foods like a mixed green salad of bitter greens, Greek Kalamata olives and charbroiled meats accentuate a wine’s bitterness so complement it with a full-flavored forward fruity wine (Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot). Big tannic red wines (like many red Zinfandels, and Herdingcats Cabernet Shiraz or Syrah wines) will go best with your classic grilled steak or lamb chops, as the fat in the meat will tone down the tannin (bitterness) in the wine.
